Program Chair, Clinical Psychology Program

The Program Chair is an employee of the Argosy University (AU) and is appointed to be the academic and administrative leader of a specific program (or programs) offered at a campus by AU. The Program Chair is responsible to the campus VPAA, the campus President, and the University College Dean for the efficient and effective functioning of the program. The Program Chair is responsible for fulfilling all duties in conformity with the policies and procedures of AU as well as those processes and mechanisms developed within the campus in which the program is offered.

Key Job Elements:

  • Lead the program faculty in the development, implementation, and oversight of the Clinical Psychology degree programs.
  • Ensure program compliance with state and federal regulations and with regional and programmatic, if applicable, accreditation.
  • Manage the operations of the program.
  • Recruit, supervise, train and develop, and evaluate core and adjunct faculty.
  • Play an integral role in the growth of the program, enrollment and field training sites.
  • Provide effective leadership, both within the program and throughout the campus/University.
  • Participate in the chairs meetings held by the College Dean and actively contribute to the work of this group.
  • Engage in public relations with regard to organizations impacted by the program; serve as liaison with the local professional community, colleges, and the public.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the College Dean or campus President.

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of post-doctoral experience
  • Experience in education and training in the discipline of the program
  • Evidence of management experience or potential
  • Educational Requirements: Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Other requirements specific to the discipline

The Mental Health Clinic of Tama County is seeking a full-time or part-time Executive Director. The Director is responsible for the overall program operation including procedural functions, managing the fiscal assets, creating and monitoring a budget, personnel administration, acting as liaison between the Board of Directors and the staff, and assisting the Board in the development and revision of the policy and procedure manual. In addition to performing administrative duties, the Executive Director must be a licensed mental health professional who is willing to carry a clinical caseload. Since public relations is important for this rural clinic, the individual must already live in the community or be willing to relocate to the Tama/Toledo area.
